New Licensed PMS Herbal Relief Treatment
PremHerb® - the first licensed herbal medicine available for the relief of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome based on traditional use only.
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a mixture of physical and emotional symptoms that some women experience during the days, or sometimes weeks, leading up to their period. Symptoms can include irritability, depression, fluid retention and breast tenderness1. PMS affects most women at some point during their childbearing years and can often be severe enough to disrupt their lives. A recent survey revealed that 95% of women felt that their home life and relationships with family and friends had been adversely affected by PMS, and 84% expressed feelings of violence and aggression for up to 14 days before their period2.
PremHerb® is the first licensed herbal treatment available to relieve the uncomfortable symptoms of PMS and is based on traditional use. While conventional treatment for PMS exists there is evidence that increasing numbers of women are seeking a more natural approach to this problem3.
Dr Nick Panay, Chairman of the National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome , commented:
“This is good news for women who suffer from PMS every month, as it offers women a choice of different treatments to choose from. As the first regulated, approved registered herbal medicine available to treat PMS, women can be assured that the product is safe and will effectively tackle the common and sometimes debilitating symptoms associated with PMS.”
PremHerb® is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to alleviate the symptoms of PMS based on traditional use only and is available in convenient one-a–day, easy to swallow tablets. PremHerb® contains Agnus Castus fruit extract (Vitex agnus castus L), which has long been employed as a traditional method of relieving premenstrual symptoms.
PremHerb® contains 4mg of dry extract from the Agnus Castus fruit and costs £7.99 for 30 tablets. PremHerb® is available from Boots stores.
